Designs (industrial models) eligible for protection is a new (in a global meaning) form of an object, represented either by shape, surface properties, arrangement of lines, delineation or colour, conferring on the object an original appearance and aiming to the aesthetic purposes. Registration of the decorative models grants on an exclusive rights to use the model in the entire territory of Poland. 

The registration of the model lasts up to 25 years, starting from the date of filing a regular application with the Patent Office. Granting a protection rights comes after filing a regular application and paying a protection fee.
